So my bike has a HID light fitted. It broke once and I replaced the ballast (about 6 months ago) all on my lonesome.

It has started to give errors and not work. Like every now and again, I will get the LAMP error on the computer and the triangle and no headlight. If I turn the ignition off and back on again, it usually (not always) clears it.

Is it the ballast again? I really dont think it's a dodgy wire (although I don't actually know) so pray, dear collective, what say you?

Mine has only done this once, and like you, a switch off/switch on re-set it. I now always let the on board computer do it's check before pressing the starter button. Don't know if it helps but it hasn't happened since.:nenau

Was ballast replaced like-for-like? There are many ballasts that just do not work with CANBUS. The bulb rating can also be a factor. Early HID kits were all 35w bulbs but when CANBUS is looking for 55w this can also through up errors or worse!!
