I have been for a couple of night runs , and getting some main light problems that you clever lot may have the solution to,
When riding at constant speeds, the head light goes bright for a while then dim later. there is no loose wires that I can find and the battery has been changed and is charging ok?.
does this seem like a diode board or regulator problem or could it be brush`s sticking?, There is no red lights on and this happens on both beams?.

Dont rule out the ignition switch itself - try fiddling with the key when it goes dim, or using the headlight flasher, as it is can be on a different feed.

Did 100 km up the freeway on Sat night with my thumb on the headlight flasher, pick up a new switch today -------.

just a thought

I chased an indicator problem like this for weeks. They would intermittently work then stop working with the flasher relay clicking. After hours and hours traced it to slightly corroded fuse connections!
