Headlight protector

Does anyone know of a LED light being taken out by a stone? I ask, as I was punted punted off at 40mph, with the light being ripped from the bike (along with forks etc), yet the lamp remained intact, with only a few scrapes on the lens etc.

When I bought my bike the dealer said not to bother with a h/l protector, they had never see one broken, they are extremely tough. I just put some paint protection film over it to protect it from me scrubbing flies off it over the years.
Up to the individual I guess.

I bought this and to be honest I can't see why you'd buy the expensive ones. The only issue is fixing them with the woodscrews provided. Has anyone been able to source the headlight surround screws? They are an M4 but have a very coarse thread.

I agree, those wood screws are pants and will bugger up the bike threads,...... not for me at all.

Gsman1 (I think ) on this site made me this personalised protector in 2014. Here it is after 2,000 miles, but it is still very transparent and OK in Feb 2020 ;

Been wondering about this for a wee while as I have just taken delivery of a 2017 TE exclusive and am adding a few bits to personalise to me.
I have been so impressed by the few things I have ordered from Cymark, along with their service, I have just ordered one of their headlight protectors too.

Great quality so far, so looking forward to this one too.
