Asking on behalf of a member of an Italian forum I'm part of.

He owns a 1956 Ariel Four Square and will have to MOT it (in Italy). He will have to place a sticker/tape on the headlight.
He is not sure where. There is no markings on the headlights. Are these symmetric?

Any help/guidance?
Thanks in advance!

Well a quick google gave this sage advice…..

“Find a wall, shine dipped head lights at it* and with a bit of card wave it over the headlights until you mask off the light which shines upwards in the top left of the beam. Tape over this bit.”

I guess he's asking as the headlight is pretty weak (6v). Probably doesn't even reach the wall :D
The sticker/tape would be more for "regulatory" reasons than actual dazzling.

If the light doesn't reach the wall, move the wall closer to the bike :D

A Ariel square 4 will be a rare beast in Italy……
Great bikes.

Glad it is sorted. Doris' technique would work OK.

As a lad, when I went to that there Continent, I rotated my Cibie headlamp in the housing to lower the high side to flat, and the flat side to high. I even put a yellow bulb in to appease the French!
