Help...I just rode back from the Channel Tunnel (to Cardiff) at night with virtually no lights!! (on my '03 R1150GS)

I'm getting nothing at all from the 'large' headlight. Small light is still on, but giving only very very minimal light, unless I switch it to Main Beam, then it's ok, but I seem to me missing the usual dipped main beam.

Is it the 'large' headlight bulb that's gone? and if so are there any 'better than standard' bulbs I could replace it with?

pay the money and convert to HID, whole new world of light :D

Les.
For future reference. Do you provide a fitting service or do you just supply the parts. It's just that when it comes to doing anything electrical, I've got hands like cows tits!
Cheers

Both hi/lo beams use H1 bulbs, which are easily available.
Dipped,or lo beam is the bigger headlamp.
Try swapping the bulbs between lamps to prove it is the blub first.
I found that the Phillips bulbs are noticeably brighter than std (a search should give more details).
Also make sure the connectors are seated correctly.

piaa bulbs

are great, but at £60 the pair forget it. For about another £40 you can have a pair of 35w HID`s, easy to fit. well worth it:thumb
