Hearing protection

I've used a pair of these now for about 5 years. Providing you get the fit right then they do their job & are comfy to wear. A mate of mine had a bit of bother as the initial fit didn't work out & he had to take them back but they sorted him out & I think he's still got his. It's worth remembering that because your lugs continue to grow unlike other bits you may need a replacement set after a few years. I'm prompted by your post to consider get a new pair myself.

I've tried tons of different hearing protection over the years having damaged my hearing in Afghanistan (and dont want it to get any worse).
At a recent appointment at the Institute of Naval Medicine ref preventing further loss, the consultant stated that most of these specialist devices were a waste of money and recommended using either the yellow squishy foam jobbers, or a set of mouldable throw-away silicon ear plugs instead.
I now buy the silicone ones as a pack of 20 from ebay for about £3 a box, use a pair for a few days then bin them.
They work really well too!
