Heated blanket w/power supply

I have been trying to get my hands on a decent sleeping bag but for what I want you're talking £80 + for the cheapest synthetic and £200 + for a down filled bag. I thought one of these would be good. I found similar at www.woolwoths.co.uk but without the power supply.

For a cheaper Option...

get your hands on a plaid picnic blanket sold at service stations eveywhere for a fiver.

They have a waterproofside and a blanket side. Use them as a tent inner groundsheet cover. Stops condensation on the ground sheet and removes the clammy coldness you experience when your arm drops out of the sleeping bag firts thing in the morning.

Used them for cold rallys for two years now, and can recommend them as the best cheap warmth giver. They prevent thermal heat transference to the ground when combined with a decent sleep mat - I use Exped 2.5 self inflating mats, and a decent Vango sleeping bag can be obtained from Millets on Morledge for 35 quid which is more than warm enough ... ;)

Are you in the Ribcrackers DG ? If so say hi to Tim from Scary Mary's friends Scouse and Jules next time you see him :)

You're right that is you... :) You haven't said when or where it's being held though. What sort of bag you're going to need is going to depend on that.

If it's in the Forth Valley it must be quite close to me. I could certainly point you in the direction of where you might buy a sleeping bag at a reasonable price up here or even take you along to a cash 'n' carry where I'm sure you'd get something warm enough, even if it's not terribly packable.

FWIW, I've got a couple of ostensibly five-season bags which I got from Costco for not very much money and with the aid of compression sacks, I've done the motorcycle camping thing with them.

It's at the Tinto Hotel, Symington near Biggar.
Why don't you pop over that weekend for a beer? :thumb
