Heated Gloves or Bar Muffs

Going to the Elephant Treffen at Nuburgring, Germany at the end of the month.

Going to be very cold.

I suffer with cold hands at the best of times so what would be best, heated gloves or bar muffs??

Heated grips + muffs works perfectly for me. The grips on position #1 don't cool off too much because the muffs keep the wind away. I rarely use #2 for the grips.

But if you don't have the grips, I think heated gloves will be the better solution. Although you're stuck with wires and expensive gloves that will wear...

Maybe I'll see you there. If I've got the time and if the weather is not too terrible.

I'm taking my hg tricky summer gloves with gortex linning, since i have had the gs havn't needed winter gloves yet

Klan gloves do not have wiring on the palms so hands very rapidly chill from the inside - you DO need heated grips as well. These gloves are 100% waterproof and being fairly thin make extracting coins sunglasses etc from your pocket a distinct possibility

Be aware that a dirty (oxidised) auxiliary socket or plug will immediately short out and blow the 15amp fuse on that circuit when you plug in - you have now lost your indicators! Probably best to hardwire the gloves

Muffs are great. They look a bit dispatch rider mind. I found the back of my hands would get cold with just the handguards. Now with the muffs on its warm hands and summer gloves right down to - 1 C

Looks crap makes sense £15. Best mod on the bike. I'd recommend a heated vest too. I've got a klan 2 with a heated collar....warm as toast.

Killing me. Three shorts threashold runs through the week and longer run on Sunday's, up to about 13 miles on long run

I read (just last night) something in MCN about heated gloves for £39.99 with a self contained battery pack. dammed if I can remember where the bloke bought them, and no I cant check cuase it wasnt my MCN

I've had a look at this sort of thing

but reccon that the battery will not give much heat or the glove much protection. I have some Tchibo bought battery boot soles that take the edge off cold toes, OK for£28 but could do with more power and full footbed element not just toes.

I dont know if these are palm back or all round heat.
The choise is between suspect battery power no dangly wires or wired into bike,pleanty of power but wires to deal with, and a few quid in price.
Heated grips, good gloves and muffs seem to be the answer.

i use muffs, you then don't need thick gloves,

you can wear thin gloves so all the heat gets to your hands .

only need low setting on heated grips, the other setting is to hot .
