Mornin all,
I've got a heated grip not working (2007 RT) and just wondered if there is a known weak spot with them to check before buying a new one or trying to find the fault.
Thanks

Probably where the wires come out of the grip (throttle side) as it's twisting back and forth all the time.

My second hand ones came already broken there, soldered the wires and fingers crossed it doesn't break again :)

Thanks- it's the left side that's gone but I will strip some insulation back to check anyway. When I got the tank off I found it wasn't plugged in.. Plugged it in but still not working. Catch 22 really because they don't work anyway without the engine running but the connectors are hidden with the tank on, so unable to check the circuits with a multimeter. I assume the switch itself is OK as the right grip is working.

Easy to check: unplug the grip from the r/h side under fairing plug. Measure the resistance through the 2 wires from the spade connectors. You should get a reading of they are fine, or (null) if there is a break somewhere. No need get strip insulation back, won't tell you anything.

The only connector on mine is under the tank. Was going to strip the insulation where you suggested the wire may be broken.

Continuity to switch okay, no breaks in the wiring from the grip itself so I assume it was an internal break somewhere.. Sorted by fitting 2nd hand one from Sherlocks.
Thanks for the replies
