Heated grips on a hp2 enduro

Guys could you tell me are they the same as a 1200gs ones or are they special for the hp2 I phoned bmw and they said they were different part numbers and were not sure if they were the same

According to the parts fiche, it looks like it's the same part set but the actual grip is a diff number:

R1200GS

I seem to recall that they weren't originally available for the HP and people were retro fitting regular GS grips... but I could be totally wrong!

Which dealer did you speak to? I'd recommend a chat with James at North Oxford BMW... he's normally pretty good at providing a no BS answer...
 
I have got Hiengerich ones on my bicke they have been working ok for 8 years you just need to wire throu a rellay and cost 1/3 the price

Thanks for the info I will give Oxford bmw a call Bhanstormers Alton would not comment on the difference but quoted me £287 for a hp2 set that seems a tad expensive when motor works do the 1200 Gs ones second hand for £30 each and a switch set for about £75

Eddie, I think it comes down to programming but if I recall the HP2 starter button is slightly different from the GS
