Recently bought an electric jacket from warmnsafe.eu (brilliant kit and great service) and that along with heated grips and tucano muffs is making my daily commute so much nicer. However, I'm thinking of adding something for the legs and considering either a shitebag or heated leggings. Leggings take an extra step for changing, but I hear good things on hear about the shitebags.

Anyone used both and care to comment on them, or have good experiences of one or the other.

Thanks.

I've not used heated leggins but I can fully reccomend shite bags, not only do you keep warm and toasty behind one, but your kit stays much cleaner and drier & the pocket is very handy for all your travelling bits and bobs. Dead simple with little to go wrong no wires to chafe and no draw on your battery.

I powered mine up and could charge phones and ipods etc in the pocket, nothing fancy just a lead and plug from halfords, fed through a hole on the inside of the pocket, it worked well.

A little square of velcro on the chest flap allows the flap to cover your whole chest, so much so that I very rarely used my heated jacket and for most of the winter I made do with just a shirt and sweat top under my Rukka:thumb2

Another benefit of a shite bag is it stops you getting wet.

With heated clothing the outer layer still gets wet, which means you have to dry it out or get damp and "orrible" when you next put it on. Plus you can lay the shite bag out when you get off the bike to cover the seat and keep it dry.

Shep mentions the shite bag inner pocket but he doesn't say just how large it is. When i once had to ride through france and spain end of december on my way to morroco i kept my lock and chain, spare gloves, tin of puncture repair and punture kit, bungees, gaffa tape, water, selection of tools, snacks, tie down straps and many other bits and pieces and there was still plenty of room :thumb.

I've got absolutely drowned recently with our lovely weather and arriving at a clients dripping is not a good thing - the shite bag will solve this I know but I just cannot bring myself to have something so fekkin ugly hanging off the bike :(

I'm presuming that shitebag = Gaucho?

If so, does that inner furry lining not get destroyed with dirt? Also if you leave it on the bike does it not get mouldy?

Mine 4 years old at least and although it dosn't look 'brand new' its still very servicable and the furry bit is fine, in fact on a warm day you can ride nekkid and still feel a little tickle on yer bits:thumb2
