I may have to :hide

Anyone seen/built heated mirrors for the LC? Today morning and again in the evening, struggled to keep the mirrors clear. :blast

If no, will be my next DIY project. Any thoughts/inputs welcome. If anyone has a broken LC mirror, please do donate. Ta. :thumb2

Thought about heated kneepads before but never considered heated mirrors. Don't know why, my cars have had them for years although they do not seem to make a massive difference. I swapped a Fiesta mirror glass which contained the heater, it was a very cheap and simple bit of kit, perhaps you could have one cut to suit the BMW plastic outer.
Good luck but I do think your project is as pointless as Keyless ignition.

Just an idea... do you have RainX or a similar product in those parts? (You should, considering that there's more salt than humanity on the roads during a typical UK winter...)

Wax on, wax off. Sorted. :thumb

Heated mirrors would require mirrors that have removeable glass so that you could bond the heating elements to the rear of the mirror, if you are desperate enough I suppose you could attempt to strip down a mirror and perhaps use a heated element from aftermarket grips bonded to the back and use the control from the same grips. lot of work

Actually, a heated visor for riding around London in winter in rain would be brill.

Griffin offered a heated visor for the Clubman helmet back in the late 70s / early 80's. Nowadays, if you want a heated visor, snowmobile helmets are the only ones that offer these.

Is this a joke- its a motorbike!!

thumperbob2002, the more you can stay focussed on the road without distractions/inconveniences such as a fogged mirror - the safer it is. Not a joke, but a serious consideration. Got it on my car - so why not on the bike? Yes, it is a bike, more of a reason to be safer than in a cage.

Get some large heated mirrors from car breakers, have glass merchant cut them down to bmw shape, stick over the top of original units using bathroom silicone and wire up to suit.
