Has anyone got any experience with heated seats on a GSA?

Touratec and Wunderlich do them but they are not cheap, can you just modify the standard seat?

My experience is with the TT seat on a GSA.

To me, the seating comfort is an improvement compared to the OEM seat. It's a bit wider, and this makes the bike feel slightly taler, however I have never felt it as a problem.
You may adjust the heat in two levels, easy adjustable by a switch mounted on to the seat. The adjustments gives the rider feedback through a built in buzzer so any adjustment is followed by a one time 3 sec buzz.

The seat heats up fairly quick, however I find that even at the lowest setting the seat gets too warm. Too warm in the sense that after a while the heat gets really uncomfortable.

As for DIY project, I think the subject has been debated in another post within the last 12 months.

I think the OP got the element from eBay and used a separate switch. If you want to get really fancy about it, you may regulate the eBay element by a CANswith, thereby controlling the heat from the left handlebar wheel.

FWIW, I bought a Wunderlich heated seat for my 2018 GSA from Nippys last year and sent it back. In the high seat setting there was an enormous gap between the front of the seat and the tank which just looked stupid. In the low setting the gap was smaller but since I ride with the seat in the high position I couldnt live with it. Poor design or manufacture IMHO. Fair play to Nippys for taking it back without question though

Cant say I have noticed an enormous gap on mine on the high setting.
