Does anyone have any recommendations regarding heated seats or seat pads? I had an RT before my GS and the heated seat is the one accessory on the RT that I miss.
There is a seat pad in the Wunderlich range for £89 and a quick google shows a Motrax pad for under £30. Has anyone used these or any others?

A few years ago I got a diy heated pad from Aerostitch but it was expensive at $85ish. The oem is http://www.checkcorp.com/seat-heater/specialized_apps_motorcycle.asp

For a tenner I had a local upholsterer sandwich it into a vinyl cover and glued some anti slip material to the underside. The finished product works great and will even fit perfectly inside my Airhawk's cover if required

If I were doing it again I would email the manufacturer and ask them to send one direct but without the switch and fuse holder etc - just a pigtail of cable. This cable is then easy to lengthen and put a BMW plug on so that the pad can just be plugged into an accessory socket and slapped on top of the saddle on cold mornings

Hi Invicta Moto. The motrax seat pad is the other one I was considering so I would be very interested to know what you think of it once you've received it and had a chance to try it out. On the one hand it is cheap enough to leave on the bike through the colder months without being worried about losing an expensive piece of kit and would therefore be convenient to use but on the other hand it didn't look very big (and yes, I do need to lose weight!)
Cheers.

It arrived today whilst I was at work, and I have just fiddled with it in the garage!

It seems quite thin. All I have done so far is snip off the battery terminal contacts and fit a Hella plug for the 1150's socket.

It has an inline fuse plus an off/on switch. The lead has a waterproof connector to make it easier to remove it. I didn't get a chance to see if the velcro straps are long enough to fix it to either seat on the 1150 without a bit of extra strap. I'll have another look in daylight.

On the test it warmed up pretty quickly and got quite hot.
