Hi Guys,

The cold weather is just around the corner & I'm thinking of an heated vest, but what make & model?....:nenau

Your suggestions will be appreciated, thank you....:thumb2

Mike

(a) If you ride a Canbus 'fused' bike, one that does not draw more than 5 amps.... or connect it to the battery.... or fit a relay

(b) If you want to power it walking around off the bike and / or want to power it other than from the bike's own electrical system, one with its own battery, naturally

(c) This month's Ride magazine has a decent review of what's on offer, treat yourself with a visit to WH Smith

(d) Powerlet's RapidFire or Wam'n'Safes's offerings cannot be faulted, trust me

Fanum will be along to tell you to twist barbedwire into a 1950's waistcoat; take no notice of him.

I looked at the Powerlet stuff but they no longer do a remote controll unit

The Keiss stuff is good and they do a remote and it was on serious offer at sportsbikeshop.com

I've got the Keis heated vest and gloves and they are excellent :thumb2
Some good deals around too.

I have the keiss jacket too. (wired directly to the battery to keep wapping happy - lead lives under the seat until I need it..), excellent bit of kit and completely does away with the need for different seasonal jackets. :thumb2

Another vote for Powerlet jackets. We have his n' hers (his and his actually as they don't do ladies sizes). Mine is powered via a relay hers direct to the battery as i ran out of switched supplies. We had Exo waistcoats before but the Powerlet jackets are much much better albeit a lot more power hungry.

If I understand it correctly powerlet are a copy of Warm 'n safe and if you read the stuff on the USA warm 'n safe website is a rip off. I do know the remote units are interchangeable as we have one of each. Warm 'n safe is cheaper than powerlet and if I was buying again I would go warm n' safe.

I had the original BMW one which was great as it kept your neck warm, very cosy.

When that bust I got the next version using a honey comb design, very light and non interfering.

One of the best things you can buy IMO.

Trouble is my BMW coverall suit does not have any holes to feed the lead through :-(

I used to use Keis stuff, but I sold it 'cos I'm fuckin hardcore!:D

I'll take the car if it's that cold!:P

Keis again - I just bought the Keis X20 body warmer and bluetooth handlebar remote.

As someone said above, sportsbikeshop are doing a good deal at the moment i.e. free heavy duty controller worth £30

Also you get a heavy duty controller in the box with the bluetooth handlebar remote - the keis website doesn't make that clear so now I have 2!

I'm using the Oxford hot vest powered by the Li-ion battery pack. It's ok for taking the chill off on a cold Autumn day, but never tested in the depths of sustained cold, winter weather. Probably best to get a bike powered version. This months Ride magazine has a good review of vests and gloves
