Needing to upgrade my boots and have seen 'trials' boots advertised. They look a little lower and little less cumbersone than motocross boots. They look like they might fit the bill nicely.

Does anyone here have any experience of either maker ?

Cheers,
Dave

I have a pair of Forma trials boots, they are as you suggested, lower and more supple than MX boots (which I also have a pair of) They aren't waterproof though.
If you don't want to go the full-on stormtrooper route, then they are a good compromise, but I think some of the equivalent priced road boots actually offer better protection.

Thanks for that Mark. Sounds like they will fit the bill quite nicely. I wear goretex socks anyways and have never expected boots to be waterproof. That way i get flexibility for using the same boots in summer without getting too hot. Layers in boots as in clothing works for me. Also always allow for two pairs of socks and wear one in summer.

I also don't / need want a super-high level of protection. If I was too risk averse I wouldn't be riding a motorbike ! It's the same with armour; I tend to have elbow but that's it. Personal choice and all that.....

Think I'll order a pair and have a closer look in the flesh.

I just tried a pair of the Forma mud/atv boots on, they are very soft but offer no ankle protection at all!
Ended up buying some Diadora Super Moto boots but an older model, too early to tell yet as not actually worn on bike yet, still trying to break them in around house.
Im only 5'7" so the longer MX boots are too long and stiff for my liking!
