Hein Gericke gone into liquidation again.

Just found out that Hein Gericke has closed all it's stores and gone into liquidation. I'm gutted as I was going to the Leeds store this weekend with my mate for him to get some gear and to get a couple of issues resolved with a helmet I bought from them 6 weeks ago.
Really feel for the staff who have all lost their jobs.

I had been trying to log on to their website for the last couple of weeks, all I kept getting was that the site was being updated! It seemed a little strange.

J&S have bought some of the stores, including the Leeds branch. They plan to re-open them in January after a rebrand.

We were in Get Geared and J&S Leeds on sunday,seemed a bit strange that HG were closed,shame as it once was a top quality store.

They simply cant compete with such as M&P or Ghost bikes.

They had a strange business model........go into the shop and, for example, pay £32 for a can of oil + free filter, go online and its 2 for 1, free delivery???????????

They seemed to be competing against themselves

Generally good gear though, and good staff in the shops, I wish them well.

I sent my 1-year old Hi-Vis 'Summit' jacket to the Leeds HG shop for a very small repair at the end of November 2013, now I'm really concerned about getting it back okay, it's a £500.00 jacket that I simply can't afford to lose!

They sent their stuff for repair to LSR Lancashire Sports Repair may find your jacket is still there. If not you will have to contact the appointed receiver and hopefully you have the receipt as proof the jacket is yours.

They also send them to a place in Harrogate, but unfortunately all I know is that the woman doing the repairs is called Debbie. That's where my wife's HG pants went for repair in summer.

That's worrying as they definitely sent my wife's HG Goretex trousers to "Debbie in Harrogate" for repair. Hope they don't bust again and Gore refuse them due to unofficial repairs.
