Hein Gericke

Finally tried on a short leg pair:thedummy

As said earlier, a joke, leg might be shorter, but the knee armour reminds me of shin pads:augie

Nothing else of any use in the shop, I was after Goretex, vented, and removable liner, nothing else they sell fits the bill..................................... or my legs:thedummy

Im probably the same sort of height as you.... I bought some BMW ones made for less taller people and the armour fits perfectly at the right place...:thumb2

HG Armour

Conversely, I have a BMW suit, the knee armour of which I found very uncomfortable - replaced the armour with Hiprotec armour from Hein Gericke, which can be fitted anywhere in the suit and was much beter. Have since fitted in all my suits. Suggest may be possible to fit this as replacement if armour on your shins?

Unfortunately HG kit seems to have gone massively downhill since I last bought from them - my original Pro-sports textile jacket from 9 years ago is still going after 4 crashes but no longer fits properly...and their new sizing is way off, nothing even comes close.

Equally, I've yet to find anyone that can do trousers properly for big people. Ixon have been about the closest but there still isn't enough material to permit getting one's leg over (fnarr!), and you end up levitating 3" off the seat with your thighs jammed against the tank. Have given up in the end and taken them to 9Lives to be modified :thumb2

HG? Dont rule out Rukka.

I currently have a Cruise suit. I am also of the 'chunky' variety, (5'10" wearing a 38R in jeans), so dont fit into the usual HG German mould.
My Cruise trousers are IMHO very good quality, but a sh*te fit. I recenly tried the short leg in the Cruise pants - armour was better placed at knees, but everything else was just 'ok'.
I was waiting until my local store gets in a pair of short leg MasterV trousers before I decide, Cruise or Master V.
Today, whilst out with a mate who was looking a new helmet, I tried on a short leg Rukka 'Unit' trousers. The dealer no longer stocks them, so they are discounted (I am told). They fitted like a pair of decent jeans. Leg widths etc, are just right. Armour feels like it should stay in place in a spill, unlike the short leg HG stuff. I doubted the claim of a 20% discount, but have researched them for hours this evening and find he is about £50 less than the best online price.
I know Rukka are very expensive. For that reason I never even considered them. But, after trying a pair on today, I am amazed.
Guess where me and my credit card are going in the morning?

I had a look at the prices between the UK and DE and the price in DE is nearly £50 more for a cruise jacket! The cruise II is about £80 - bunch of robbing bastards

Knee armour

What about seprate knee protectors these strap on the knee under the over trousers and are very good and stay in place where ever your knees go.
I had a problem with my twat suit trousers as the armour in the r/h knee
caught on the horizontal part of the adventure crash bar so removed armour
after a coule of nea misses (dropping bike when putting foot down) and these seem to be the dogs Brought them brand new from a fellow travller
and just after was offered a pair for free!!. have a look around and try as these would seem to do the bus and they won't move out of postion when sliding down the road using your knees as brakes.
