Helinox type chairs in Lidl

Thats a similar price to my Chinese Ebay Helinox lookalikes; mine are still going strong and survived two French jaunts. They look like the real thing,(except colour), they feel like the real thing..............

Mods/admin wanna merge these two Lidl Helinox knock-off camp chair threads?

Anyone else get one? Never sat in this type of chair before, so not sure if my impression would also apply to the expensive versions.

Seems well made, light, not what I'd describe as "small pack size" (I'd been eyeing up the Alite Mayfly which is smaller), easy to assemble (30 seconds first attempt). I'd describe it more as a sling/sit-hammock/support than a "chair". Feels like I'm slipping forward off it and have to hoosh myself back into it. But reasonably comfy. And of course, just €20...

I'd suggest bonding the rubber feet on with P.U or araldite etc I lost a couple of mine got buried in the mud although it may be a weight related issue :comfort

Good idea. Probably also for the end caps on the tubes where the fabric pops on - one popped out when I was dismantling the chair.

I cut 2 lengths of plastic pipe to sit the feet in to stop them sinking into the ground

when the ground's that wet that the feet on my Helinot sink in, i go and sit in the pub :P

lidl

the table and particularly the chair are a bit on the low and small size, fine for me of course, but might not accommodate you typical Tosser rear end!

We've just bought 2 chairs and a table and are very happy:thumb2 sturdier than the expensive chair Kev bought before. They aren't as small as the helinox but not big enough to worry too much!
First bit of shopping done for our 2017 trip:bounce1

Get these chairs now......

Then you won't worry about steering locks,D locks , or any f locks :augie

I went into my local Lidl for the chair and bought the table aswell(its very sturdy when together),but for the money they seem sound, chair is well fit to hold up a big lad, they pack up small enough to so I reckon they're worth chancing for the price...

Feels like I'm slipping forward off it

I found the exact same. I can't fully relax the muscles in my legs or I feel like I'm going to slide forward. I have a little camping stool, which is actually more comfortable, even though there's no back on it.

Having said that, it seems quite sturdy and I think it will withstand a fair bit of use.

Mate tried mine this evening - same thing. It's like the arse bucket needs to be deeper or something.

My 5 euro halfords stool is good so. I debated going hunting Aldi's but said fuck it. It's always like that with aldi lidl stuff. Grand till you need it to cut properly or grip properly. Or boot up. Or sit in. Personally I sit with 100 % effort all the time. Shame their crap...
