Hella FF50's

Just bought myself two Hella FF50 driving light kits (4-lamps in total) for £66. I also bought a plug for the DC accessory socket for about £2 and next-day delivery for the whole lot was £5.
The supplier was AB Butt of Leicester, I have been using them on and off for several years as not only do they have competitive prices but they are very friendly & helpful.

Am fitting the Hi-beam pair to my Migsel light-bar and the Lo-beam ones to the Wunderliech engine-bars (rubber-mounted of course), in that set-up they appear to give a good spread of light.

Although they will switch automatically between Hi/Lo I am fitting a illuminated waterproof rocker-switch to isolate them when I don't want them to come on (I have a 2003 model with perm dipped lights). The fused feed will be controlled by a normal relay (via the waterproof switch) and the Hi/Lo switching will be via a changeover relay so only one pair is on at a time.

My initial tests indicate this setup will do the job very nicely however if I find the engine-bar mounted lights are too low/susceptable to stone-chips and/or badly affected by vibration (even though I am rubber-mounting them) I will move them up onto the light-bar as well.:)
