Hello, new R1200GS rider.

I pick up a 6000 mile old GS1200 09 model on Saturday. I have had R1150R and R100,800 and 650s before but this is my first modern flat twin.
I have moved over from the F800 section and despite all the horror stories that bike initially had I covered 37000 miles in 30 months with only one failure, a heated grip packed in. Im hoping this bike will also prove the horror stories of shafts and pump controllers a thing of the past.

There's always horror stories about any bike/cars these days. Too much relying on electricals I think.

They are great bikes. I've had 5 in 10 years - all perfectly reliable. It's your ar*e that will break down, usually after about 2 hrs.
