Hello - newbie about to collect his first GS and it's an Airhead :)

Does anyone have any information regarding history of the bike I'm collecting on Wednesday, I can't seem to access the anything goes area?

It's a 1988 R100GS reg number E100YKL, I believe it was a forum members bike?

I've not been on a bike for 10 years having sold my Africa Twin :augie in 2004. (Newbie duck's to avoid spat dummies) Now I've grown up I've bought the Airhead I always wanted in my youth.

ps is it true i'll start to smell of a little bit of wee from now on? :rob
 
If you haven't collected it yet then there's still hope. My advice would be to run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

The anything goes section needs a subscription. It's full of shandy drinking Southerners spouting their usual bollox so I wouldn't bother.

Who on the forum are you buying the bike from?

I'm buying it of a gut called Ian Light from Colchester, he told me it had been owned by. Forum member, the frame has been refurbished and a new wiring loom fitted a few years back?

Just poking fun at Airheads in general.

Don't forget the pictures when you get it. If there are no pictures then it never happened.

I guessed I'd fit in here having read some of the threads, I blame Devon and cider!

It all started 3 years ago when away on holiday in Devon the wife liked the stubble I grew while away and I acquired a taste for Cider, the beard stuck. Last year while in Devon I discussed my desire to squire another Land Rover Defender, wife agreed :)

This year while on holiday in Devon while drinking Cider I looked out of the pub and thought the perfect addition to my old school Defender travelling experience would be an old school airhead, the wife said no way :( however the next morning she said Christmas has come early, start looking!

Next year I'll be 50, so god knows what will seem like a good idea while I'm drinking Cider in Devon, I've always fancied a little armoured ferret or the like....
 
Don't forget the beard and who'd of eau d wee!
 
Well if you like 1. Airheads 2. Devon and 3. Drinking cider then you really must come to Gentleman's Weekend in Devon next June.:)

And at 50 years old you just meet the minimum age limit. :rob
