Been looking for a new lid. The Doc (mrs) fell in love and wont wear anything other than the BMW Enduro (nice and light and she puts up with the noise /plugs)

I find only the BMW Sports or the Shoei XR1100 seem to fit, but I am not sure about them being suitable for long touring, any advice or experiences?

The shoei hornet I cannot seem to find one to fit me in store, so cannot comment there..

As for Jacekts Spidi, Held, Hein Gerieke etc seem I have to go one size up from recommended and the necks are just too small for me. :blast

I am 6'2 98kg 46 inch chest, with 17 1/2 neck I am looking at the Olympia stuff from the US AST2 or maybe if I can find the extra $ the AeroStich..

I am looking more touring style with over the hip, not blousen style for a jacket.

I have not had a chance to try ony the Tourguard jackets so again any experiences there?

i have a xr 1100 find it comfy and quiet. try a shark evoline 2 its a good helmet + has the versitality of flip front must be a 2 though. Dont go near a system 6 far too noisy.
I like Hein G Some of their top end goretex laminate is very good and you can try before you buy. Its a long way back with some of the imports if your not happy. JJH

dont try the Arai chaser....noisy for me, even compared to my original box cheapo. Comfortable as heaven, but noisy.,...wish i had bought the shoei qwest

Mate I seem to be a Shoei head or a Schubert/BMW head. the UVex/BMW Enduro suited my wife but not me..

Off to helmet city for the afternoon..

If you've got a Shoei shaped head then it's unlikely that you'll get a Shoei Hornet to fit you. I find that Arais fit me and my Shoei Hornet is also a great fit, in contrast to all the other Shoeis I've tried.
