Hi

Is there any problem with having a gropo helmet cam in place whilst going though the border control into Morocco?

Derek

Hi

Very unhelpful answer.

Derek

Well here's a helpful answer then

Turn the camera on and you'll definitely get pulled, leave it off and on your helmet... you don't know, put it in your pocket or bag while going through the border and you'll have no problem.
Simple, it's the same anywhere.

Anything that "may" be of military or a security interest will result in the authorities taking a very dim view of you taking video or photographs.

That means: Airports, Mobile phone masts, Reservoirs, Dams, Border Crossings and taking a photo of the Police, Etc. So pack your camera away at the border and have a nice trip to Morocco.

They'll probably charge you a special extra insurance, or camera tax, or camera levy, or its out of GoPro season insurance special tax,
or just make up something that greases their palm at the time, 'my friend'.

Photographing security installations is frowned on. Also some Moroccans don't like to have their photo taken.
I experienced this with the Berbers, especially in the Atlas Mts, and it's better to follow their etiquette whilst in Rome.
Nice people though.:thumb2

In reality I don't think anyone will give a passing glance at you zooming past with GoPro on head. It's only when you start pointing a camera
in the wrong places that cold spoil the atmosphere.

But hey, enjoy. It's a great country with lots of friendly people.

If your looking to get bummed in Morocco, having a camera on your head would I guess facilitate that process...

if your desperate to film the border use a more discrete method there's cameras in various handy other shapes now

google HD camera pen

getting caught with that will also get you bummed, your not going for the motorcycling are you....?

You forgot to inform him to turn the GoPro facing backwards.:D

good point if you want a lasting memory of who's bumming you, you'd best heed the above useful comment.... :)

Hi

Thanks for the sensible replies. To the few others if that is typical of those that contribute, then I for one will not bother with this forum again.

This has to be the earliest flounce I have seen!..

Restandplay...the answers are in the responses...just tangled up in frivolity!
If you don't get caught...you will be cool.
If you do get caught...then you may have to do some smooth jive talkin
( I got caught by the Police trying to film them...)- I had to delete the footage...when are you going?
