Helmet - choosing

I have had two Arais on the trot,the RX7 corsair was great and after five or six years became loose, so I bought a Quantum, OK but not as nice as the corsair.

I tried the Corsair on yesterday and it's just too loose now. I have decided to get a flip jobbie. So far I have tried

Schuberth - Glasses dont fit well underneath
Shark - sun visor hits nose (it's not a big konk)
HJC - Same as Shark
Shoei Multitec no sun visor
Shoei Neotec, no D ring strap, effing pricey
BMW System 6 - trying next sat
Nolan - haven't found one to try yet

What else should I try ?

some other flip brands here - not heard of some makes but apparently AGV do a cheap plastic flip as well as a dearer fibreglass job.

This is one of those cases (Just like Daytona boots) where you really do get what you pay for.

Just bought the Evoline 3 at a really good price, sunny does not hit my nose but did a mates, have you tried not pulling it down so far?
Really like it, loving the flippability

Do not buy a flip, noisy, expensive and not as good as a "real lid" that is my experience.

BTW if you do buy a flip do not buy a Schuberth, complete crap that people buy just to keep up with the fashion, Leakey, noisy and utter crap.

Bought a Nolan N104 last week from Helmet City in Chichester, who were v.helpful with an excellent price. Used for about 150 mile so far and I'm impressed with the quality and comfort, is quiet for a flip, quite light at 1650g, has superb visibility with large aperture visor with sunshade and Pinlock and may be legally worn riding with chin bar open or closed. This is not a feature I thought I'd use but is good when in town traffic on humid days. Overall I'd highly recommend you at least view and try before buying one of the expensive variety which are not perfect!

Just bought the evoline 3 myself, as a move up from the evoline 1.
One of the things I particualy like is the fact that the sun visor now comes down far enough to hit my conk, the previous version stopped a bit high, but as you say its really easy NOT to pull it down so far it touches.

I do wear mine with the visor up, and if you do that then there are only two to choose from and that is the evoline or the roof, having had both, Roof wins hands down for COOL look, Evoline wins hands down as a practical helmet, but there is nothing else on the market that you can actualy use with the chinbar up conveniently.

Givi

I've been using a Givi x08 flip for just over a month now. Good piece of kit for the £150 I paid. It's quiet for a flip and it type approved to be used open or closed face. It doesn't come pin loc ready but I've just ordered a new visor with pin loc insert for £40. The dealer informed me that Givi are putting the price up to £199 soon.

I was really happy with my System 6, but now after only 3 month's it's allowing water to leak in past the visor seal and the Bluetooth kit won't charge.

Going to the dealers tomorrow and getting it "tested" and they will check to see if the visor problem is covered on Warranty (no need to weigh in folks, I will be sticking to my guns).

So I have some doubts about the long term performance of a System 6, and think perhaps one of the other offerings may be better. I'm thinking about telling BMW to shove it and get a Roof

I'm in the same boat. I've got a Multitec but bought the wrong size and have only worn it once; a Caberg Konda which was a bit tight on my forehead and now have a Neotec which I love. I'm selling the Konda very cheaply if you're interested in trying it out.

Speak as you find, I've had Shoei's for years the last one an XR1000, great lid. Now have a Schberth C3 which is quiet, doesn't leak and is quality. Have the SRC fitted which gives great audio to motorway+ speeds. Particularly like the drop down sun visor. Not good with glasses though, so I stick to contacts when wearing it.
