Helmet Lock

Is there really no helmet lock on my 2001 F650GS? I've looked and looked..

Not and answer to your question but I just purchased a PacSafe helmet bag, looks great and does just what the advertisements say, maybe worth a look.

There isn't a helmet lock per se, but have a look under the seat. I think there is a little wire thingymajig that is designed to pop ya helmet strap on and then put the seat back down to lock.

Personally I wouldn't leave my helmet strapped to the bike, might turn into a tramps piss pot

Thanks, Flip. There's one of them there thingamyjig (note correct spelling!) things on my 1200, but nothing on the 650. There's two damn great spikes that locate the seat, but they're too far away from the edge for a helmet strap to reach, and to thick for the buckle to fit on.

(Even if there was one, I'd only ever leave my helmet on there for a few minutes, so there simply wouldn't be time for horrible pissy tramps to make their way down here from the North. )

You dont get them from the North they come over in lorries from over the water(or under said water) they will defo piss in your helmet, probably steal your bike, and your lid then go back to their luxury three bed semi and their fifty brothers sisters, uncles and aunties, who have probably also pissed in your lid and tried to steal your bike.
