Helmet recommendations for an oval shaped bonce

You must be able to remove film to try helmet properly
Say what?? i just put the lid on, popped the visor down and up, wore it for 30 mins = no pain so popped the film off

Its not hard ?

@The Other PaulG , just go and pay T**t in the Cap a visit at Motolegends. They will sort you out no doubt with a custom fit Shoei helmet.
How exactly?

I tried a neotec 3, it was the most painful lid i have ever tried on, no end of padding is going to make an round lid fit an oval head lol

Maybe you misunderstood me. I was referring to @Dirty Ming post (#14) about returning helmet under SBS’s policy.
I’ve returned a bunch of stuff without issue.

Go ask T**t in the cap. He will tell you all you need to know, and make a lid to fit your melon.
Forgive me Mart, but I am no expert in helmet fitting, so can’t explain exactly how in any meaningful or indeed technical way.

Find somewhere that does the Shoei personal fitting system

It's either free or cheap depending where you go

They'll measure your swede and adapt the inner padding to suit it
Seems bods haven’t paid any attention for the past 3 years or so, or choose to be uneducated yet again.
As always pick a thing of the shelf, try it on blindly without asking further questions, then swear profoundly that it is an overpriced and uncomfortable object, naturally it has nothing to do with a shape of their melon. Hey ho.

It seems my head is relatively long front to back, and thinner side to side.

Imagine looking down on a rugby ball…

My last few helmets have all felt ok in the shop, but after only an hour at highway speeds I get a lot of pressure on my forehead - enough to be really uncomfortable.
Perhaps your not going to the right shop, there will be a helmet that will fit....see below.

My head is shaped like the xenomorph from the Alien series, I had Motolegends do a PFS on a Neotec 3 and it fits better than any helmet I've owned in 30+ years of owning bikes.

Fun over, down to serious issues. A helmet fitting service is not for everyone as are the standard shop bought helmets, sometimes getting one made to measure is the only way, so good luck.

For someone with an oval-shaped head, it's best to look for helmets specifically designed for that shape, as they provide a snug fit without pressure points. Brands like Shoei and Arai offer models that cater to oval head shapes, ensuring better comfort and safety.

Unless someone knows of something more flexible, then I think Shoei PFS is as close as its possible to get to "made to measure"?

Not all Dealerships are experts in good helmet fitting practise, some customers ending up with poor results when wearing an unsuitable lid, dangerous for the wearer if involved in an accident, and a very expense mistake.

Just incase you missed this:-

Not Schuberth, they are designed for box head germans.
