Help!.. 1150gs shooting flames out exhaust!

Hi everyone ... just joined & i need help!..
After loads of jap sportsbikes ive decided to take the plunge & buy a gs...
So ... about a month ago i bought a damaged repairable twin spark 1150gs ...
Repaired it ... painted it ... got it up & looking good ... but ... jst cant get it running right ...
Its had the cat removed & is fitted with a remus end can ... its reluctant to start, when it does it wont really tick over onless you keep the throttle slightly turned, if you rev it up hard it shoots flames out the exhaust & pops back really loudly... also the left hand exhaust actually glows red where it comes out the head! ... smells like its running really rich as well ... any help would be greatly appreciated as i hope to get it mot'd on friday! ... thanks

hi, thanks for that... i'll check it tomorrow ... just been having a look around the site & it does seem quite a common fault

hi again, you were dead right,throttle cable not sitting correctly ... cant believe something so simple could make the bike run so poor!..
havent road tested it yet but ran it up in the garage & it seems 100% better ... find out tomorrow wen i take it for the mot ... thanks again
