I bought an Autocom Active-PLUS Rider kit on the 9th May last year that was fitted by Vines a week or so later whilst in for a service. It has worked brilliantly over the past year with my Zumo but recently I have started to experience the left speaker cutting out. After looking into the problem it appears that the headset cable coming from the main unit has a fault. I have tried my headset on the pillion lead at it's fine...... My question is this..... As the unit was fitted by Vines but bought from North Oxford BMW and is only 4 days over the warranty :blast will Autocom remove and replace the main unit if found to be faulty or will I be expected to remove it from the bike myself. This could be a problem as I didn't fit it and have no idea how it's been wired into the bike or Zumo?????:nenau

if your system is out of warranty you can replace your lead with a Part 1592 £10 which will get you a replacement riders lead, the system will not need to returned back to us for inspection or the fitting as the leads are easy to replace.

Spoke to Autocom today who are going to send me a new rider cable which is apparently easy to fit..... They were'nt worried about the warranty and were very helpfull.... Excellent service.....:thumb2

Have fitted a new Cable myself when I had one that went faulty.

You just peel the sticker off the main box and undo the screws to get in. You will see where the cable connects with a multi connector. Its a bit fiddly if you have sausage fingers like me but take it steady and its a piece O` pish mate.
