So, the bike died on me this afternoon, not sure weather it's clutch or gearbox, does anyone know of a BMW repairers near Rambouillet France??

The bike is sitting 4 miles from Rambouillet and would need recovery, does anyone know a local outfit?

I of course will be trying to sort it but any local knowledge would be a help

Cheers

What are the symptoms? It could be something simple like a lever binding on the guard or the clutch fluid level rising causing clutch slip, but unless you say, there's no chance of any help :nenau

Fluids ok, nothing binding on the bars, bike was running fine, stopped at some lights, went to take off and just got a huge clunking noise from rear end and back wheel seizing.

I recovered the bike to the uk today and it's now at coopers TW so we shall see what they find.

Thanks to all for the contact details.

Sounds like a broken driveshaft. Pull back the rubber gaitor near the final drive and see the driveshaft is still attached properly. Could also go at the gearbox side (the other rubber gaitor) but that seems less common.

Repair is quite simple. Drop down the FD and replace the shaft. As you were not moving there should be no other damage.

Cheers and good luck

Quite likely to be the back U/J on the driveshaft, if the rest of the shaft is in good order a U/J at Dave Mac Props is £35+vat fitted DAMHIK!
