Not sure if I am posting this in the right section, so mods please feel free to move it 
The key in my BMW system top box stopped turning/working and I decided to remove the lock and give it a good soak in WD40 to see if that helped.
A clip flew out as I took it apart and I am unsure where it should go now
I have taken some pics with offending clip at the bottom of pic1:
