Any technical wiz out there that can help me? :nenau

After a little excursion into a ditch in Austria I had to remove my Autocam and bluetooth unit - in doing so the wiring to the Bluetooth unit became separated (see pic).

Colours are as follows:

From the jack/power plug: White, Black, Blue, White, Red

From the unit: Black, Red, yellow, green, white

Any body know how they should be wired up - I tried Autocom, but they said as it is a pre-2009 unit they do not have wiring diagrams.

Any help much appreciated :beerjug:

Do you know the model or part number of the unit, there are still PDF's of some of the old kit on the internet?

Failing that you need to bell out the cables with a multimeter?

Sorry can't be more specific without a bit more info buddy?

Thanks for the response, I think it is Autocom Part 2223

I have tried looking on the net, without any luck so far.

Your only hope is Sam at Chainspeed.

FWIW the 12V connector plug for the Super Pro Automatic means that it is not a pre-2009 accessory.

Part info

Thanks John, I'll give 'em a try

Beemerboy9 is right its not a pre 09 accessory anything starting with a 2 is 2009 on, I have the manual for this and it states 2009 Bluetooth Modules, Autocom should be able to help with this, that said I have had several conversations with them this year and they haven't been very helpful.

Hope your good with wires?

First things first, cant guarantee this as its not sat in front of me to test it out but, based on your photo:

Starting with the Bluetooth module end of the cable, if its the same colour codes used on the latest products (can't guarantee this without belling out the cables) the following colours codes should be:

Black, Red, yellow, green, white

Black = BASED ON THE PHOTO ONLY IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THE SCREEN -

Red = Microphone +

Yellow = Auto on mic (cant say if this is the + or -)

Green = Left Speaker -

White = left Speaker +

From the jack end ( and this is where it would be best to bell the cables)

From the jack/power plug: White, Black, Blue, White, Red

Black (linked to 4 pin jack plug) = the - 12v connection

White = 12v +

That's all I can give you without a better picture, it looks like you have four connections on the 3.5mm 4 pole jack plug in use but you only list 3 in your description, if you can post a better picture (where I can see the cores close up) I might be able to give you a better idea.

Just to clarify is this Bluetooth unit connected to your phone or GPS? what I'm asking is did you just pick up sound only or where you transmitting voice as well?

Just can't make the cores out well enough on your photo to help further at the minute.

Thanks for the info. Sorry, the pic is not great! I'll try and post a better one this evening - but I think you have pretty much worked it out!

The module is used for my phone so I am transmitting voice as well.

There are four connections on the jack plug - one wire combines with the wire from the power plug to form the black lead and then there are blue, white and red. From the power plug there are black and white.

You could always send it back to Starcom for repair. I had a problem on my unit and they did it at what I considered a reasonable price.:thumb

Sorry Bud

Hopefully a bit clearer -

Done a bit of scribbling and can't quite figure out the connections the colour code can't be the same as the 7 pin colour code, and the colour code on the 4pin plug is different to some of the four pin leads I have. Sorry bud.

I would have another go at Autocom though as it is a 2009 product.

Also sure you have already looked but there are some leads on ebay, and the new Autocom Bluetooth module is on there for half the price of one of these units at the minute. :thumb2
