I'm of to Ireland on my Dakar ( this morning)on a wee trip and my clutch seems to be slipping, only in the lower gears- i am changing up so fast in first, second and dont seem to be getting any where fast. Any ideas??????:blast

I would have thought the Clutch would be more of a problem in the Higher gears if it was slipping. Have you changed the oil recently or done anything to the bike?

that was my thoughts, recently changed my oil and it started to slip,100 miles down the line and it was back to normal.

Some times the clutch will slip for around 200miles after changing the oil.

the oil type can affect the clutch, something to do with the additives

EC Rating

* This is a big NO NO on the F650 and G650X. These bikes have a wet clutch and EC (Energy Conserving) oils contain friction modifiers that can be detrimental to wet clutches.

hope that's not it :blast
