Help for a GPS novice please?

The only issue, aside from arranging power and audio should you need them, is that all but the top end Nuvis only do point to point navigation. You set the destination and the device decides how you get there (OK you can set fastest, shortest etc.). You can add one via point, to visit along the way, but that's it.

I don't think this is true any more. I've checked the manual for the 700 series Nuvis (I've got a 770) and multiple via points are permitted.

I remember finding a post on here someplace that detailed the difference/advantages between the 2610, 2720 and 2820 models but I have spent the last couple of days looking for it, can anyone give me a pointer please?
I have found various comments but nothing that shows the advantages of each newer model over the previous one.

But, basically, the 2720 & 2820 use NT maps; the 2610 is non-NT (rumour has it that the 2009 maps are the last). The screen resolutions on the 27/28 are higher, but the 2610 has custom see-through tabs. The 2820 has Bluetooth, bit's a bit iffy. The 27/2820 have solid-state internal memory; the 2610 has a CF card (up to 2Gb). They are all discontinued.

I bloody well hope that rumour is wrong as I love my 2610 and intend keeping it for years.
