After reanimating my iMac, it steadfastly refuses to connect to the internet. I have a fixed cable to the back of my router, so there's no wireless issues.
I've set the location in preferences as automatic after fighting with it to use IPv4 to no effect.
I can see the light on the router blinking, so I know somthing is happening.

Next stop the feckin bin!

I don't know what reanimating means....:nenau

have you done a shut down restart, sometimes that springs the thing into life.....:thumb

Do you know if it is getting an IP address from the router?

If you open up a console widow and type ifconfig that will tell you if it has got one.

if it has one it will look something like 192.168.0.1, if it has type

ping google.com

into the console and see if you get replies.

Do you know if your router is working, i.e have you tried another mac/pc on it?

I'm more of a Windows expert so some/all of the above may not work......

good luck!
