A bit difficult to read your post but a bike with that low mileage for it's age has been unused for much of the time. I'd suggest checking the gear lever pivot and linkage joints, if they are stiff the lever won't return to it's "home" position. Also there are highly regarded independents on here, top quality work and a lot cheaper than a franchised dealer.

Use the search function. Oh, welcome to the site.

Any help with independants in east midland area please

You are in luck. One of the nation's best is in the East Midlands just north of Melton Mowbray. Contact Mikeyboy (Overland and Classic) from this site. 07786 340692

He will sort it out for you.

Tuftywhite thank you im not sure i would call my misfortune luck i will ring him thou theres a digit missing on the phone nu ber

The shift lever runs through the frame in self lube bushes. Give them a good clean and oil.

Sent somehow.
