for reasons best known to myself - the only machine here at home that is comfortable at present to work at is my 24 inch iMac (sorry our iMac).

All my dev software etc is Windows PC based, sadly.

So I know I can use VMWare Fusion, to create an image of the Windows box, and run it on the Mac, but every time I update the windows laptop for new release of software etc, then I have to update the Fusion image.

So remote control, I believe, is my best option.
So does anyone do this ? Anyone know how it can be done.

I do not want to go spending hundres of pounds getting this to work, so no Gotomypc etc thanks.

Update: Just found this: http://www.tightvnc.com/ anyone used it - can recommend it ?

many thanks
Aaron

VNC works if you know its IP address

teamviewer is much more user friendly and free - you need the id and password off the machine - which stays the same as long as you don't turn it off.

its also cross-platform

i fix my old mans PC in the uk from here with it :thumb

cheers Martin.

That is just what I am after - just downloading it now.

thanks

just got both vnc and teamweaver working.

Which is good, but two issues are immediatley apparant, with what I am trying to do..

Right click in Windows, with no Right click hardware in Mac, and Alt in Windows, with no Alt in Mac ??

Umm...

there's an Alt key on my mac, and an apple mighty mouse will right click in windows running on a mac under Fusion or Bootcamp.

Doh

thanks Cookie, found the Alt key now.

Still trying to sort out Right Click under VNC & TeamWeaver. No doubt someone will be along soon to point out how easy and obvious it is.

cheers
Aaron

Download the microsoft RDP client.

I'm in the same boat as you with development machines, mine being i the US, and any multi-button mouse or mighty mouse will work fine.
