was checking round my 1100gs yesterday and noticed a drilled hole in the rear plastic undertray with nothing in it. my initial thoughts was that there must be a bolt missing out of it, but after looking more closely there is a square rubber bodied part directly above it with what looks like a brass diameter with a screwdriver slot running across it up inside it. next to it is an electrical connector which isnt plugged in to anything. i have no issues here but was just curious what it was and is there something missing out of the undertray
cheers

I suspect it'll be the Charcoal canister connection :)

(Only actually fitted for the Merkin market, but all the wiring and set-up for it present on Euro bikes as well)

EDIT....just out of interest, is it ignition controlled live? If so, it could be a dead handy place to take a feed for AUX light relays or anything else :)

I think it's the 'ten turn' potentiometer fir setting the mixture ;)

There should be a screwdriver slot up there in the housing, the 'thingy' will just continue turning through 360 degrees without screwing In or out, but it adjusts the mixture, to be read by a sniffer up the old exhaust :D

Oh! edit ... you're asking about the electrickery thingy :blast

The part with the brass screw is the mixture adjuster. And why there's a hole in the mudguard. So it can be reached and adjusted by screwdriver with the engine running.

The empty plug is for the american models.
