Just ordered some aux spots for the 12GSA and motorrad want to charge me 140 quid to fit them.....does anyone have the fitting instructions....is it difficult to do....do I need any extra tools to do it myself? :nenau

Tell you what, if I can get the instructions of you guys I'll become a site sponsor...how's that.....and also donate some of the cash saved to my church....

downloaded and burnt the bmw service manual for 12's but does not have the adv and other aux fitting instructioins....

As I'm a bit of a nonce with bikes I need the assistance.... :beerjug:

I have bought a set of spots from the USA and have bought an auto switch with wiring loom from Nippy Norman to fit them, (£40 with a bit for postage as well), I have looked at the free instructions download off NN's site and I and a mate who's more knowledgeable than myself are going to fit them ourselves.

Thats for the 1150 Dickieboy the 1200GSA will have the canbus so will be different I suspect.
Ive put auxilliary spots on my 1200GS which is quite straightforward, assuming the GSA wiring is the same then it should be easy

a. does the bmw kit come with a relay and wiring ?

If it does then you have to decide where to trigger the relay from. I did it from the back of the main beam bulb holder so when I switch to main beam on they come.

I think you ought to become a site sponser anyway.................lots of benefits.
insulting pm's to be sent and received
for sale and wanted section to waste your money in
etc etc :)

kit comes with mounting bar, separate switch for the lights and all cable ties and leads etc...so, should be pretty easy to fit I guess..as it's all BM approved?

Suppose the biggest bit is detatching the petrol tank etc..

If its anything like the standard 1200 fuel tank to remove, its a doddle and will take you 30 mins the first time, and 10 mins thereafter once you know what to undo.

Just make sure it is reasonably empty before you undo it, and obviously no smoking or sources of ignition/naked lights in the vicinity.
