Hiya,

Kev's decided to put the bike on irish plates so I've been ringing round looking for quotes.

Axa quoted €486, carole Nash €699.

His insurance in Uk is only £303.

Is there somewhere else I can try? Or things I should tell em or not tell em?

cheers

AON and Quinn direct are the other 2 i know of.

Do a search in the Ireland section as there are a lot of threads on insurance..cheapest not always the best:thumb2

Quinn direct is probably going to be the cheapest for a single Bike.
or possibly AXA/Aon. :nenau

oh - and if he gets an Assessment done by one of their pet Instructors - that could bring the price down more.

now,
anyone know an Instructor/Assessor ? :augie

Insurance companies seem to look at the rider more than the bike. CN covered my 1100GS and my Ducati Monster for a smidge over €300.
Anyone would think there's a cartel/market divvy up scam going on.:augie

Try EA Davies ...I've always found them to be very helpful with regards to motorbike insurance.

I have been with Davies for quite a few years now and have no complaints at all. Having said that, I haven't needed to make a claim thankfully. Will they cover bikes in the south?

in a word;
No.

Was with Auntie Carol for my first year, not cheap but not horriffic either.
Adelaide were considerably cheaper for year 2.

Quinn are cheap but have heard lots of bar talk about problems with claims... (Similar with their healthcare).

Hi guys,

Thanks for all replies:)

We went with Axa in the end as Kev wanted to ride the bike today and I had their no in my phone:D:D

He's a tad impulsive! We have most of our policies with them so it actually makes sense.

Cheers! Only 3 weeks and 3 days to MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMT:bounce1

Insurance

I am with Quinn, 250 eur a year TPFT for the vara...
Seems reasonable for me as I only have 1 year no claims due to them not accepting my no claims from belgium...

I'm with Quinn.... €264 comp on the 1200GS

Just got my renewal notice from Carole Nash, started at €531.30, got them down to €435.00 bonus not protected, breakdown and personal accident cover, there was a small increase of the previous years premium:nenau:bow

Quinn €443.51 Bonus not protected, no personal accident cover, breakdown covered but I believe this is really bad.

AON €667.00 I didn't even ask what was covered

Adelaide €404.56 but got it down to €356.14. Bonus protected, breakdown. personal accident cover.

all above: fully comp, 6 years no claims, full licence and a friendly manner helps:)

...........now who will I give my business to:rolleyes::rolleyes:
