Hi John:

I know you were being humorous when you wrote your reply, however, just to avoid any possible confusion for others who might read this, it needs to be stressed that the 27xx series was the first series of GPSRs that offered the ability to load a database of 'custom waypoints' (Garmin's term for what we think of as proximity waypoints, or speed cameras).

Some enterprising users did come up with methods for overlaying a visual presentation of certain 'features of great interest' (speed cameras) onto the map display of a 25xx or 26xx GPSR, but the methodology for doing this is totally different than the methodology for loading the speed camera database into the 27xx and subsequent models of GPSR.

I know how it's done, but I have never bothered to load such a database, other than once when I loaded a truckstop database just to test the feature out. Perhaps there is another forum participant here who has a 27xx or similar GPSR that does support the new 'custom waypoint' feature who could step up to the plate and provide a good explanation of how to do this, to answer Allroad's question.

Michael
