New tyres fitted. Put the wheels back on acs or whatever and light won’t go off. Tried everything now. Ring is straight washer in right place even a new sensor. Still the same.

What gap should be between the ring and sensor?
Looks quite a bit to me. 2-3mm

Have you put things together in the right order?
Loosen it all off, prop the bike and then retighten.

Sorry mate

Someone had the same issue yesterday/weekend but he seemed to have sorted it

Tried turning ACS and ABS on and off. Still on.
What I noted today is that when I start the bike and ride round the car park the front brake feels to pulse a bit, as the ABS is cutting in. When lights go off as normal and come back on and stay on after a short while the lever feels normal,
Almost as the though the sensor and ring aren’t communicating to each other the say the wheel is turning.

Is the front wheel in the right way round. A tyre shop managed to cock that up a few years back.

Have sent you a PM

I’m wondering. When I put the wheel back on the pin was difficult to get in. I gave it a few sharp taps with a mallet. Could this have knocked the bearing out slightly, the spacer isn’t seated right up to the bearing outer race! Can’t remember if it should be.
There’s a spacer between the 2 bearings inside the wheel this is loose. Should it be tight?

I’ve put the ring on top of panniers and looks flat to me.
I’ll check again tomorrow. I’m done with it for today.

Come to think of it ring did initially seem a tad off. I tapped it down to seat all round. I wonder if some fault codes need clearing!

the ring has to be perfect i did the same thought i would save a few bob taking the wheels to the tyre fitters only to very slightly damage the ring no amount of trying to straighten it did it bought a new ring and all sorted.

First what is the fault

ABS ASC ?

If you have a red fault light lit, you need the code cleared otherwise the light will stay lit (even if you have fixed it )

The ABS reluctor ring must be a set distance from the Sensor (airgap) spin the wheel slowly, does the gap between the sensor head and the reluctor ring vary ?
if there is any variation out of spec it will throw an error

Also look at the reluctor ring , are any of the cutouts dmaged mishaped? they should look like little oblong cut outs if one is not straight, it will cause errors

So clear all fault codes - GS 911 or motoscan

check airgap - check reluctor ring

and ride 50 yds for the system to calbrate -

then if you have a red light warning - run the GS / motoscan and give us the fault codes

Fault is both ACS & ABS light permanatley on. All I've done is replaced the wheel.

I don't have a GS-911 or Motoscan. Motoscan is nothing I'm aware of. Just looked and it's Android only, not IOS.

Maybe I need to clear the codes. I don't know if this is the case.

I'm going to give the ABS ring a thorough check this evening.

Must be someone local that has either of these devices

Even a cheap android phone and a motoscan would benefit future use??

I have a mate with one. He's at work when I get home. I have MOT & Drive Shaft replacement at BMW Friday. I'm hoping to get it sorted so I'm not paying £100 an hour for something I may be able to do myself. ;)

Thanks to everyone for the help. Problem solved.
An hour of slowly tweaking the AbS ring to get an even gap and the lights are out.

Anyone want to buy a front ABS sensor
