I've just had my 03' R1150GS (Evo ABS Brakes) service by a local bike shop. When I got the bike back the General Warning Light (! symbol) now stays on which according to the manual means their is a problem with the brake light - but their isn't it seems to be working fine.

Secondly if I brake harshly (which I always do after a service to check weverything is working right - ha ha !) the General Waring Light (!) and the ABS light flash alternatly at a rate of approx 1 flash per second. Again the books says that this means that the brake fluid level is low. However the levels are fine and the brakes are working fine !!!

Is their somewhere else apart from the calipers you need to bleed (we noticed what look like bleed nipples on the ABS unit under the tank) or is their a magic reset button that should be pressed after a fluid change !

Help me please - P.S if you wanna know more bout me and me bike visit www.gsridingcamo.blogspot.com > feel free to leave comments on it.

Cheers my friends.

Have you checked both filaments in the rear light? One is for braking and the other filament is for the running light that illuminates the number plate.

I had a similar (intermittant) problem just after I bought mine. When I checked the brake light it was working fine. It was only when I took it out and checked VERY closely that I noticed that the smaller filament was just not creating a circuit. The gap was so small, I almost needed a magnifying glass to see it, but it was big enough to break the circuit. I think it was only intermittant because sometimes the heat from the brake light filament closed the small gap and created a circuit.

I just changed the bulb and haven't had a problem with it since. :thumb

Were they experienced with BMW Servo brakes :nenau

Sounds like they weren't

According to our ST.eptoe you need to bleed the servo too

Get some advice from a BMW specialist
