Help needed - How to remove a Worm !

My daughters laptop seems to be infected by a worm.

"AVG Free" detects it as I-Worm/VB.GG and attempts to heal it, but it keeps returning.

The most comprehensive description I can find is ...

.. but this doesn't help remove it.

Any ideas on what I can do ?

Note that my daughter is away at University, so fixing it by giving her clear instructions is necessary.

You did not say which OS you are using. If it is WinXP you may find that switching off System Restore briefly and re-booting will enable the AVG to zap it.

I had a similar problem, and with the System Restore function enabled it effectively ring fences the the Worm thus preventing the the AVG from removing it.

If you are lucky, once it has been zapped you can then restore the System Restore function.
