In my efforts to get my GSA back to original spec you may have seen I've been trying to find a pair of original Valeo OEM spot/fog lights. I've managed to find two sets of brackets and the fog lights (from Motoworks), but frustratingly they came without the grills.

As suggsted elsewhere, I've found a couple of companies that are happy to scan and print me a set and give me an STL file so I can try printing them myself. However I need an original grill to scan, so I need to find some friendly soul to let me borrow one.

If you have a set of original spots, please (please, please!) can I borrow one of your grills from you so I can get it scanned. I'll use insured postage, cover any costs (if I can't pick them up from you, or deliver them myself) and get the grill back to you as soon as I can, with the addition of beer tokens.

Morning, I have these exact ones on my 1150 GS SE, you are welcome to “borrow” them...

Grills

When you finally get sorted with some body to carry out the work let me know.
I will send it up to wherever you want by next day courier, well packed and wrapped in bubble wrap. Please make sure it is sent back packed in the same manner, as you well know they are as rare as unicorns. By means of reward please donate a sensible amount to the Air Ambulance fund.:thumb2

That sounds like a great plan - thanks again. I'm just waiting for my local guys to come back with confirmation they can do it, otherwise Its a compnay in Bristol.

Sorted - 3D printed grills

So, with the help of blacknbluex2 who bravely lent me a grill, I sent it off for scanning and printing. It's not a cheap option, but having (just) missed out on a complete set of OEM lights on Ebay.de after a heads up from Big Fella, it seemed like the only way to get the now 'unobtainable' grills.

Items arrived today. They're pretty good - not perfect, but fit the lights really well. They are in a slight grey plastic, and have a few 'artifacts' left over from printing. I'm going to spray them with Plasti-kote satin black during the week and see how they come out. I suspect that once on the bike, you won't be able to tell the difference without having an original in your hand, and then only if you are A1 Anal. The original is on the left in the photos - you can see its black and without pimples.

If you need replacements for your originals let me know and I can get them sorted. It will be the wrong side of £100 for a pair (yes, eek!).

Anyway, UKGser comes up trumps again - what a great community.
