Can anyone give me any suguestions as to what could be wrong please?
The bike is a 1100 gs 94
Have just tried to start my gs and the fecker turns over but wont fire up?
Have checked the plugs and there seems to be no spark at all and no trace of fuel .I have had the tank off and checked for any loose connections or dry joints and all the other electrics seem fine
Any help please :(

Try checking the fuses and fuel pump relay in the fuse box. Sidestand switch! Sounds as if the ECU is not being switched on. If all else fails try giving Steptoe a PM sure he can offer a few clues and guidance.

Was it running OK when you last stopped it?

How long is it since it was last run?

Side stand switch and Hall Sensor are favourites

Thanks in advance for your replys gents
Fuses and relays have been checked and are good as is the sidestand
Display is working as normal
Last used on a rideout last weekend and been on optimate since then and was running well
Suppose id better have a look and see where the hall sensor is next

What appears to be Hall sensor failure can often be traced to heat damaged wiring......
so all may not be lost ( or as expensive ) as first feared... :thumb

As the bike isnt going anywhere does anyone have any details of a mobile BMW mechanic in the east midlands or ideally in the Derby area that could sort this problem out for me ?

Before i take out a second mortgage just how easy would it be to fit the hall sensor myself ? or is it a definate dealer/bm mechanic job :(

She breathes again :D
Replaced the Hall sensor today ( thanks to Sherlocks ordered Friday delivered this morning :bow )
Thanks for all the suggestions and advice gentlemen :thumb

what sort of a job was it to do? just curious for when mine packs up. had a look at the clymer manual and it looked a bugger, cheers
