Help needed, RT satnav mount broken/locked

Held and advice needed pls -

I have a 2018 RT with the integrated satnav mount on which there is a release button on the offside shroud.

Trying to remove my Carpuride a few days ago there was an uncharacteristic click and then nothing, as in nothing happened, other than the button remained in the ‘pushed’ position but the Carpuride remained locked into the mount.

Thinking it was seized I sprayed with silicone but no result, then on closer inspection I saw that the lock/unlock rod had snapped (see photo)

I removed the whole thing from the dash but can’t really figure out a way to release the Carpuride without destroying the plastics, I appreciate the mount is toast so I don’t mind cutting that off but not keen on replacing the plastics as well.

Suggestions please?

How did you resolve it, just in case someone has the same problem?

A combination of a Dremel and junior hacksaw to cut away the slotted plastic bit at the bottom directly under the satnav, then lever it away leaving the nav free to remove.
Ebay 2nd hand replacement was £75 plus £25 p&p, BMW price was £113.
