Help needed setting up an r100gs

Hey all , ive just bought a 1995 r100gs BUT the guy that owned it replaced the throttle cable and then decided to turn every screw possible and now the bike is running like a dog.
The owner is a friend so I know the bike was running. I have followed engine/fueling setup tips and videos etc and balanced the throttle bodies etc but its still not running right. Would anyone know of any BMW wizards in and around Belfast that may have a look at it for me?
I dont fancy taking in to my main dealer as most of them guys are laptop trianed due to newer machines.
