I've installed CN europe 2008 on my PC and loaded the maps onto my 2610. The routes I had installed on the GPSR no longer work. OK I thinks, It's probably due the fact the routes were drawn up on V8. I opened the saved route file on top of 2008 and it seemed to look the same. I re-saved it with a different file name so I still hade the V8 version and tried to upload the 2008 version to the GPSR. Still no joy, I get

I've had a good search but can't seem to find any reference to converting the routes to make them compatible or do I just have draw them out again from scratch?:(

Ask it to recalculate :nenau

The roads will be different, even if only in tiny detail.....so it's quite rightly telling you so......in theory (I think) if you tell it to recalculate, it'll do so using the new road information.

THE problem may arise when or if it can't use a WP or via point that it sees as 'wrong' which may cause some odd results in the new version of the route.

recalculate....but make sure the routing preferences match the ones you set for the original route....i.e. weighting for higways or d roads!

Are you 100% sure that you have downloaded ALL the maps you need?

I got that message once - it turned out that I had missed out 1 tile when downloading the maps to the unit. Have a look at THIS THREAD. :thumb2

unless you have a tile missing, fanum's right.

open the route in CN 08 on the PC, recalculate, send to unit.

the original routes stored on your gps were calculated in v8, they won't match 08 mapping.
