Help please. Mapsource code lost on computer change

I have a netbook which I take away with me. It has my old 2008 maps on it as well as the latest 2014.1. Works fine. I can give routes to my mates who only have ancient Quests and they work fine.

I have a new computer (with windowz 8, I don't recommend it) I have re installed Mapsource from the original disc -2008 maps. Updated from the Garmin Website to 2014.1, that works fine BUT everytime I start MapSource I get a notice that the 2008 maps are locked and I need a lock code.


I guess that will be on my old, stilll servicable, computer. But where?

Any ideas please?

Worth a try
On your old machine run the Unlock Wizard and select Backup my unlock codes to a file. Transfer this to the new machine.
On your new machine run the Unlock Wizard and select Retrieve and reinstall all my Garmin unlock codes, then Retrieve my unlock codes from a file on my PC, navigate and select the file.

Or drop Garmin a mail and they can supy you the unlock code for whatever disc u may have

Aren't unlock codes displayed on your myGarmin account? Mine are for three sat navs, the oldest being unlocked in 2005.

No unlock codes shown on my Garmin account but it states that the map is available to download.
